Join a CNF Project

Follow the steps below to join an existing (or newly created) Cornell NanoScale Facility (CNF) project:

1. Confirm with your PI
   
   Confirm with your Principal Investigator (PI) that you will be joining an existing CNF project. Obtain the CNF Project Number and Account Number.
    
2. PI Project Access Approval (Existing Projects)
   
   Your PI must Email the CNF User Program approving your addition to the specified CNF Project Number and Account Number (this step can be skipped for newly created CNF projects).
    
3. Set Up Your Cornell Login ID (External Users)
    
   • External users without a Cornell NetID must obtain a Cornell GuestID
   • External users with an inactive Cornell NetID must contact CNF Computing to request reactivation of the Cornell NetID
      
4. Complete the New User Application
    
   • Cornell users must submit the New User Application - Cornell. 
   • External users must submit the New User Application - External. 
   • All forms must be submitted electronically.
      
5. Schedule Training
   
   Once your request is approved, you may schedule your required safety training -- please email the CNF User Program.
